Position Summary
Our client, who is in the government space, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to lead the implementation of assistive and smart home technologies, specializing in integrating these systems into various facilities. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies that enhance accessibility, convenience, and efficiency. You will also work with internal and external vendors and be responsible for liaising information between stakeholders and users. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with people of varying abilities and backgrounds, have a strong foundation of technical knowledge, and enjoy abstract problem solving.
Responsibilities
Product strategy and planning
- Develop a comprehensive product strategy for assistive and smart home technologies tailored for various users and facilities
- Conduct market research to identify trends, user needs, and competitive landscape
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product roadmaps aligned with organizational goals
System integration and implementation
- Oversee the integration of assistive and smart home technologies into facilities, considering the unique requirements of each environment (ex. Network capabilities)
- Coordinate with program and project manager, engineering and development teams, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation of systems and technologies
- Manage the end-to-end implementation process, address technical challenges, and ensure optimal performance
User experience and accessibility
- Champion user-centric design principles, ensuring that assistive technologies are intuitive and accessible to individuals with diverse needs
Stakeholder engagement
- Work closely with users to gather feedback, refine requirements, and champion user needs throughout the development process
- Share product vision, roadmap, and progress clearly and concisely with stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and through written documentation
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and vendors, including customers, partners, and facilities management teams
Quality assurance and compliance
- Champion product analytics: Analyze usage data, identify trends, and leverage insights to inform product roadmap decisions and optimize features for user engagement
- Establish and enforce quality assurance standards for all implemented technologies
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, especially those related to accessibility and smart home technologies
Minimum Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Business, etc.) or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work with multiple teams
- Experience with data analysis and leveraging insights for product decision-making
- Previous experience working stakeholders, internal technical teams, and external vendors
- Must live in Colorado
