Position Summary
Our client is seeking an SAP Project Manager to lead a high-visibility SAP transformation initiative in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This individual will be responsible for driving structure, execution, and cross-functional alignment across a complex SAP landscape that includes ERP delivery, integrations, roadmap planning, and business readiness.
This role is ideal for a project leader who can bring order and follow-through to a fast-moving environment, operate confidently through ambiguity, and serve as a bridge between technical SAP resources and business stakeholders. The right person will understand SAP deeply enough to ask the right questions, manage sequencing and dependencies, and translate technical work into clear business outcomes for leadership.
This position will partner closely with SAP technical resources, business teams, and executive stakeholders to help move a critical enterprise program forward. The client is looking for someone with strong executive presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both senior leaders and technical teams. Success in this role will require someone who can facilitate productive conversations, drive decisions forward, and reduce ambiguity across a complex set of priorities and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role with preference for candidates who can be onsite 1–2 days per week in either Broomfield, CO or Brooklyn Park, MN.
Responsibilities
SAP Program Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project management for SAP initiatives, including implementation activities, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, testing, cutover, and go-live readiness.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, RAID logs, governance materials, and executive-ready status reporting.
- Bring discipline and clarity to delivery by defining objectives, owners, timelines, decision points, and expected outcomes across workstreams.
- Ensure work is sequenced appropriately across foundational SAP components and downstream dependent activities.
- Oversee execution across multiple concurrent streams while keeping the broader program aligned to business priorities.
Roadmap Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Help shape and drive the SAP roadmap in partnership with IT leadership, technical SMEs, and business stakeholders.
- Identify priorities based on business value, delivery readiness, risks, and resource availability.
- Coordinate interdependencies across SAP and adjacent platforms, including Arena, Onshape, Prostep, and related middleware/integration points.
- Facilitate working sessions, planning meetings, and design discussions to keep teams aligned and decisions moving forward.
- Partner with technical contributors and stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and IT.
- Navigate competing priorities, strong personalities, and evolving business needs while keeping the program moving forward.
Business Translation & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the connective layer between SAP technical teams and business leaders, translating technical concepts into practical business impacts and deliverables.
- Clarify what each phase of delivery means for the organization in real operational terms, not just system terminology.
- Prepare concise, polished communications and presentations for leadership, steering groups, and executive stakeholders.
- Build trust across a wide range of personalities and functional teams, helping drive alignment in a high-change environment.
- Support decision-making by documenting options, tradeoffs, risks, and downstream impacts.
Governance, Risk & Change Oversight
- Identify project risks, blockers, and dependency issues early, and drive mitigation planning.
- Manage scope and change requests through structured governance and documentation practices.
- Support integration testing, UAT coordination, cutover planning, and transition to post-go-live support.
- Partner with external vendors, consultants, and third-party providers to ensure accountability and delivery quality.
- Maintain strong program hygiene across status reporting, meeting structure, follow-up actions, and documentation.
Minimum Experience
- 5+ years of project or program management experience, including at least 3 years leading SAP-focused initiatives.
- Hands-on experience supporting SAP S/4HANA programs in environments with significant complexity, interdependencies, and evolving business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project sequencing, delivery dependencies, and execution risk across ERP workstreams.
- Strong understanding of how to partner with SAP architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to move work forward.
- Experience creating structure in environments that may lack mature processes, large teams, or implementation partner support.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to operate independently with urgency and sound judgment.
Additional Plus
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, hardware, or other operationally complex environments.
- Familiarity with Arena, Onshape, Prostep, or similar product/integration ecosystem tools.
- SAP generalist experience spanning multiple functional areas.
- Experience supporting organizations going through rapid growth, transformation, or high-pressure delivery timelines.
- SAP Activate certification, PMP, or PMI-ACP.
