The SAP Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of
SAP initiatives across the organization, including major implementations, enhancements,
integrations, and upgrades. This role plays a key part in shaping and executing the long-term
SAP roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational needs. The SAP
Project Manager partners closely with SAP architect, technical developers, business
stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver high-quality SAP solutions while maintaining
strong governance, risk management, and communication practices.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Roadmap Planning & Strategic Alignment
• Lead the development, refinement, and execution of our SAP roadmap in partnership
with IT leadership and business stakeholders.
• Prioritize and document roadmap initiatives based on business value, resource capacity,
and strategic alignment.
• Ensure roadmap decisions consider integration points, technical dependencies, and
long-term scalability.
• Oversee planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and stabilization phases.
• Own and enforce SAP delivery sequencing, ensuring foundational configuration
(organizational structure, master data, finance controls) is completed before dependent
workstreams begin. (Solid understanding of what cannot start until something fishes.)
• Coordinate cross-functional teams internally (across IT, Finance, Supply Chain,
Procurement, Tech Team) and externally
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
• Oversee SAP development activities, including customizations, enhancements,
interfaces, and reports.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, documentation, and change control
processes.
• Facilitate and document workshops, requirements sessions, and design reviews with
business process owners.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical SAP requirements and vice versa
for reporting and tracking purposes.
• Maintain strong relationships with business leaders to ensure alignment and adoption.
• Act as the primary integration program lead across SAP, Arena, Prostep, and middleware
platforms, managing cross-system dependencies, data readiness, and cutover alignment.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
• Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Manage scope changes through structured change control processes.
• Ensure compliance with PMO governance, documentation standards, and audit
requirements.
• Coordinate with SAP implementation partners, consultants, and third-party vendors.
• Monitor vendor performance, deliverables, and contract adherence.
• Oversee integration testing, UAT, cutover planning, and go-live readiness.
• Coordinate training materials, end-user documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Ensure smooth transition to support teams and post-go-live stabilization.
Reporting & Communication
• Facilitate SAP Steering Committee comprised of business leaders and executives.
• Provide clear, consistent project and roadmap updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Maintain project dashboards and executive summaries.
• Drive decision clarity and closure by defining decision criteria, documenting impacts, and
preventing re-work caused by late or changing direction.
Qualifications Required
• 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading SAP projects.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing an SAP roadmap.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing SAP S/4HANA implementations with the
ability to assess readiness, sequencing, and risk without relying solely on vendor input.
• SAP Delivery Sequencing & Dependency Expertise
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream projects.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or regulated industries.
• Experience with Arena PLM, Onshape, and Prostep a plus.
• SAP Activate certification, PMP, or PMI-ACP a plus
• Preferred: Hybrid Role with onsite presence in the office 1 – 2 days/week at Broomfield,
CO or Brooklyn Park, MN
*This is a hybrid part-time role, designed to support strategic SAP initiatives while offering
flexibility in scheduling. The position is ideal for an experienced SAP project leader who can
drive roadmap execution, manage development activities, and oversee project delivery
within a reduced-hours structure. Workload may fluctuate based on project phases, with
additional hours required during key milestones such as testing, cutover, or go-live.
