Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Security Engineer to join our client’s team. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting technology solutions that enhance both IT and OT security. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks, be proactive in identifying vulnerabilities, and demonstrate a strong ability to manage security tools and processes in alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain privileged identity management solutions.
- Manage vulnerability detection and remediation platforms.
- Administer and support Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Conduct threat research and analysis, providing timely reports on emerging security vulnerabilities.
- Integrate threat intelligence and indicators of compromise (IOCs) into response workflows.
- Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to meet organizational requirements for confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Implement and align security strategies with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls.
- Follow secure architecture principles, including least privilege, least access, separation of duties, audit logging, and continuous monitoring.
- Document procedures and maintain records for cybersecurity and Identity & Access Management (IAM) services.
- Develop business continuity plans specific to IT security services.
- Participate in cyber incident response efforts following defined procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on various security-related projects.
- Respond to service desk tickets and participate in on-call rotations.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 6 years of related work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct IT security or security engineering experience strongly preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience will be considered.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Relevant security certifications such as GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials), GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or similar.
- Strong knowledge of secure architecture practices and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with IAM tools, SIEM platforms, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
