Position Summary
This is a business-and-process role, not a configuration role. An implementation partner will handle the actual SAP IBP build. What the team needs is someone who genuinely understands demand planning — statistical forecasting, demand sensing, forecast disaggregation, and the consensus/demand review cadence of a SIOP process — and can translate that knowledge into clear requirements, validate the build against real business needs, and support testing and adoption as each region goes live. You'll be the connective tissue between the demand planning business team and the IT/implementation partner.
This is structured as a Contract-to-Hire engagement. The client's intent is to convert the right person to a full-time seat, with timing aligned to the pace of the broader implementation program rather than a fixed date — candidates who are a strong long-term fit are the priority, and the team has flexibility to work out the right structure for the right person.
The role is based out of the client's Colorado corporate offices with a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesday–Thursday for Colorado-based hires). Remote candidates will be considered based on experience, qualifications, and willingness to travel to Colorado periodically.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the demand planning business team and the SAP IBP implementation partner throughout each phase of the rollout.
- Translate demand planning processes — statistical forecasting, demand sensing, forecast disaggregation, and consensus/demand review — into clear, actionable requirements for IBP design.
- Partner with the implementation team during design workshops, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm the build reflects real business needs.
- Coordinate testing activities, triage defects, and support cutover planning across each regional go-live (North America, EMEA, South America).
- Provide end-user and super-user training to drive adoption of the new planning platform.
- Own day-to-day production support and issue resolution for demand planning tools once live.
- Document business requirements, process flows, and key configuration decisions for future reference.
- Support integrations between IBP and upstream/downstream source systems.
- Contribute to data governance and data migration efforts tied to demand planning data.
- Coordinate with the implementation partner and other vendors to keep delivery on track.
- Support broader technology roadmap and portfolio planning discussions as they relate to demand and supply planning.
- Drive change management activities that build trust and adoption in the new platform across regional teams.
- Flag risks and readiness concerns early, escalating appropriately as each go-live approaches.
- Build strong working relationships with regional planning stakeholders across geographies.
Minimum Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on demand planning experience, including direct participation in a SIOP (Sales & Operations Planning) process at a manufacturing company or similar environment.
- Demonstrated depth in core demand planning disciplines, including:
- Statistical forecasting
- Demand sensing
- Forecast disaggregation
- Consensus / demand review
- Hands-on experience with at least one demand planning tool — SAP IBP experience is a plus, but experience with a comparable platform (e.g., Oracle Demand Management Cloud, o9, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis) is equally welcome.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between business teams and IT/implementation partners.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Additional Plus
- Direct, hands-on SAP IBP experience or SAP IBP certification.
- Prior involvement in a full-cycle demand planning tool implementation (design workshops, SIT/UAT, cutover).
- Comfort supporting a multi-year program with sequential go-lives across multiple regions.
- Experience partnering with an external SI/implementation partner rather than an internal build team.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Familiarity with SOX-related process controls.
- Experience working with global or regional planning teams (EMEA, LATAM, etc.).
Salary / Wage Range
Hourly rate-$70-$80/hr. Once converted, $120-$130K+bonus
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown.
