Cybersecurity Operations Engineer (Contract – Netskope & Azure Focus)
Location: Remote (Must be available by 7:00 AM Mountain Time)
Duration: 12-month contract (potential to extend or convert)
About the Role
A global enterprise cybersecurity team is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to provide tactical support during a high-impact tool rollout. This is a mid-level consulting role ideal for someone with hands-on experience in Netskope and Azure security tools, combined with strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring others.
You’ll work closely with engineers and analysts to tune tools, elevate detection and response workflows, and contribute to an increasingly mature security operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
Netskope Rollout & Optimization

Support the deployment and configuration of the Netskope SASE platform

Work hands-on in the Netskope console to tune alerts, configure dashboards, and optimize policies

Collaborate with analysts to make actionable recommendations for tuning and visibility

Serve as a training partner to analysts new to the platform
Azure Security Support

Collaborate with engineering team on Microsoft Defender and Azure Front Door configuration and response

Tune detection rules and help reduce false positives and operational noise

Assist with Azure security visibility, triage workflows, and response readiness
Analyst Coaching & Enablement

Act as a day-to-day mentor and coach to junior security analysts

Provide in-the-moment guidance on incident triage, alert investigation, and platform usage

Help document internal best practices and contribute to process playbooks
Tool Hygiene & Optimization

Offer a fresh perspective on tuning and configuration of other security tools where applicable (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Okta, etc.)

Assist with alert tuning, policy updates, and improving signal fidelity across platforms
Collaboration & Communication

Work with a globally distributed security operations team (U.S., Brazil, Serbia)

Participate in early stand-ups and cross-time-zone syncs (must be available by 7 AM MT)

Maintain open, proactive communication with leadership and peers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:

3–7 years in cybersecurity operations or SOC engineering roles

Hands-on experience with:

Netskope (user-level console experience required)

Microsoft Defender & Azure security tools

Strong mentorship or training experience with junior analysts

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote environment

Must be available and working by 7:00 AM Mountain Time daily
Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with one or more of the following:

Checkpoint or Palo Alto firewalls

Proofpoint email security

Okta (IAM policy configuration or administration)
